What we collect
- If you contact us. If you email or phone us, we keep your name, contact details and what you tell us so that we can reply to you.
- How you use the site. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited, how people reach the site and what type of device they use. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. It does not tell us who you are.
- Technical information. Like every website, our hosting provider and the services that supply fonts (Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts), maps and videos receive your IP address and browser details so that they can deliver content to your device.
Why we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries about The Collection and to understand and improve how the site works. We rely on our legitimate interest in doing these things. We do not sell your information or use it for automated decision-making.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_NLZZFYVHCG, which last for up to two years. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site still works without them.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers named above, which process it for us, and where the law requires us to. Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by the safeguards that UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and meet our legal obligations. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
